Biography

Clara Vogt was a centenarian, living to age 109.

The daughter of Michael Vogt and Savilla (Houck) Vogt, Clara Vogt was born in Marion Township, Michigan in 1866,[citation needed] residing there with her family.[1][2][3] After the death of her father in 1902, Clara lived with her mother and her sister, Helen, at the family home in Marion Township; her sister died of epilepsy in 1904.[4][5]

Her mother died in 1922; in 1940, Clara lived in Howell, Michigan, living in a boarding house, in the home of widow Jennie Landis.[6] Clara Vogt appears to have never married and never held a job. Clara Vogt passed away at the astonishing age of 109[citation needed] and is buried in the family plot at Lakeside Cemetery in Marion Township, Michigan.[7]
