Ludwig (Louis) von Pereira-Arnstein (1803–58) owned the dominions Altenberg (Lower Austria) and Böös (Hungary) and had been a public shareholder of the bank “Arnstein & Eskeles” since 1834, which has a large cotton mill in Lochowitz (Bohemia) and the sugar factories in Graz and Laibach.
He was also active in industry. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the State Railway Company, Royal Swedish Consul General and since 1845 a member of Lower Austria. Landtag, where he advocated an increased influence of the representatives of the estates. Also artistically active as a painter and sculptor, he participated in the exhibitions of the Academy at St. Anna in Vienna from 1832 to 1847.
He had his palace in Vienna built according to the plans of the architect → Ludwig Förster (1797–1863).
He was married (1) to the Councilor daughter Theresia Freiin v. Diller (1806–43). She died.
He was married (2) to Henriette Gfn. Larisch v. Moennich (1817-61).
