From the Castle Garden immigration site, this is the Spreen family entering the U.S. (from Bremen) through New Orleans on 11 Nov 1857. This shows several children emigrating from Germany (Prussia), contrary to what the 1860 U.S. Census (Brownstown, Indiana) shows. This also shows different birth years for the parents than what is listed on that Census. However, on the 1870 Census, ages for parents are correct for their birthdates, and children shown leaving Prussia (below) are listed on Census as being born in Prussia. --GK.
