Obituary

Mrs. Jennie Lee Edwards, widow of the late, W.M. Edwards, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sam Gresham, north of Mt. Pleasant, at 4:00 o'clock Wednesday morning. Mrs. Edwards was born in Daingerfield on November 13, 1868, but had spent most of her life in Mt. Pleasant, moving, here at the age of 19. At the time of her death she was 80 years of age. Deceased is survived by her daughter and three sons, W.H. Edwards, Tyler: S.M. Edwards of Texaco, New Mexico; and Paul Edwards, Dallas. Other survivors include seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were completed for 2:30 o'clock Thursday morning at Smith-Bates Chapel with burial following in the Old City Cemetery on West First Street. Pallbearers selected for the final rites are grandchildren of the deceased.
