Note: He returned to the sea after 1671 as the sea captain of the "Friendship", from 1687 to 1692. He was listed as having come on the "Hopewell" in 1662 to Virginia by way of Barbados. He was in Lancaster Co, VA on 14 May 1662 and in Rappahannock Co. in Jul 1663

Richard Waits, Sr and his wife Sarah came to Rappahannock Co, VA in 1663 from Malmsbury, Wiltshire, England. Tradition says he was a sea captain; a will in England of a crew member says the deceased was from the Good Ship He settled permantly in Middlesex, Co, VA in 1705. Richard, Jr. was born there in 1708. Widowed twice between then and 1713, he married (3rd) Charity Beaumont 16 Apr 1713. They had a son William born in 1715. Richard, Sr d in 1716 and Charity remarried, a John Ingram in 1717. A son Samuel Ingram, was born late in 1717.
Both of Samuel's parents had died by 1728, and the 2 half brothers became wards of the only older brother, Richard, Jr. (added in pen are: Richard Waits Sr b 1635 in England: And Sarah's last name was added as Colestone. Md in 1660.
Notes:Four of Agnes brothers, John Jr, Richard, Charles, & James went to Harrison Co, Kentucky in 1749. The last three named moved to Southern Ohio about 1800 and remained there until their deaths.
