Biography
The son of Lorenzo T. Walcutt (1859-1897) and Clarissa Clark (1863-), Ora was born in Mendon Township in 1891,[1] residing there with his family.[2] His siblings included:

Ora Walcutt married Zella (Miller, the daughter of Lewis Miller and Sarah Jane Duncan, marrying in Van Wert County, Ohio on October 19, 1912,[3] and having six children together. Ora registered for the World War I draft when he was 26, registering in Lenawee County, Michigan on June 4, 1917.[4] He stated that he lived with his family in Hudson Township, Michigan and that he was self-employed in farming there. He was described as a man of medium height and build with black hair and light blue eyes. He did not enlist and, [n 1920, they lived and farmed in Hudson Township.[5]
The Great Depression must have hit the family hard; in 1930, living in Manchester, Michigan, Ora worked as a janitor at a nearby school.[6] By 1940, Ora and Gladys were separated; Ora lived in Manchester, Michigan with three of their children, Clarissa, Margaret, and Ora, Jr., working as a carpenter in construction.[7] They each filed for divorce, with the divorce being granted in Ann Arbor on October 19, 1941.[8] In 1950, Ora lived with his son, Robert, and his family, residing in Manchester, Michigan and working as a finish carpenter.[9] Gladys lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan, working as a live-in housekeeper.
Ora and Gladys remarried in 1950, marrying on September 16, 1950 and honeymooning in Niagara Falls, Canada.[10] The marriage did not last and Ora Walcutt married a third time, marrying Margaret Ann (Rathburn) Nixon (1893-1968), the daughter of George Rathburn and Margaret Dunning, in Ann Arbor, Michigan on December 1, 1958.[11]
Ora Walcutt passed away in Ann Arbor, Michigan[12] at the age of 84, residing last in Manchester, Michigan.[13][14] He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manchester, Michigan.[15]
