Research Notes

The California Death Index shows his mother's maiden name as: Deluce. This makes sense as they named their first son De Luce. This was a tradition at the time to give your first son your maiden name as his first name. I have not found any marriage records for a De Luce and a Waldvogel. Many sources indicate Edward is the son of Charles Waldvogel & Elizabeth Gerhardt. I have not found any records to support this. He is not listed on their 1880 census. If anyone has records to show, please add to profile.

The only reference to a middle name for him are the Utah & Western States marriage records.
