Sarah at 26 yrs., is listed in the 1860 Damariscotta, Lincoln, ME census, enumerated 19 Jul 1860, as living with her father and stepmother, Eliza; occupation, Seamstress. Sarah at 45 yrs., is listed in the 1880 Damariscotta, Lincoln, ME census as living with her father; Single; Keeping House Sarah at 65 yrs., is listed in the 1900 Newcastle, Lincoln, ME census, enumerated 18 Jun 1900, as wife of Joseph Emerson; dob, Apr 1835; married 18 yrs. Baptised in the Damariscotta Baptist Church 28 Jun 1857 Newspaper account of her death says she died on Sunday at the home of H. A. Day and was the widow of Joseph Emerson and step daughter of Mrs. H. A. Day. Sarah's death cert. yields the following information: d. 13 Jan 1907 @ 78 yrs.; pob, Bath, ME; Housewife; Dau. of Thatcher Wales (pob, Bath, ME, Sailmaker) and Mary Lincoln (pob. Bath, ME); Widow of Joseph Emerson; information given by Dr. W. H. Parsons. Sarah is buried with Joseph Emerson and his first wife, Elizabeth, in the Glidden Cemetery, Newcastle, ME. This cemetery is located on the River Rd., 1 mile south of Rte. 1.
