Biography
Emma Power, daughter of Henry Power and Mary, was born on 16 August 1846 in Carbonear, Carbonear, Newfoundland.[1]
In the 1921 census Emma Byrne (age 55) was the widowed head of household in Southside, District of St. John's West, Newfoundland.[2]
Note
In most of her childrens' records, her maiden name is given "Power".[3][4] There is a potential contradiction in her daughter Catherine's record, where the maiden name is listed "Walsh".[5]
There is a potential that two different women are conflated. Her birthplace is Carbonear on the birth record, and Brigus on the 1921 census.
