Biography

^[1] Michael Waltemyer, son of George Waltemyer and Elizabeth, was born in Pennsylvania; married Margaret Muller before migrating to Muskingum County, Ohio. We have no dates of birth or death, except that Margaret Musser Waltemyer died shortly before the War of 1812, after which Michael married Elizabeth Edgell. The German language only was talked in the family during the lifetime of the first wife and English after the second marriage. The first seven children are of the first marriage and the last six of the second marriage. These descendants settled in the Ohio counties of Hancock, Delaware, Hardin, Wyandot and Morrow. The majority of the Waltemyers have not gone far from the ancestral home in York County, Pennsylvania. ...
