Biography
James Ware was born 9 Aug 1622, Ireland, son of Sir James Ware (the antiquarian) and Elizabeth Newman, daughter of Jacob Newman [1]
James succeeded his father as auditor general of Ireland.[1]
He married Elizabeth Hickman daughter of Dixie Hickman, Esq of Kew ( sister of Baron Windsor later Earl of Plymouth) on 11 Feb 1650[1]
Their children:
- James Ware d. without issue
- Mary Ware b. 6 Mar 1651 (due to her grandfather's entail, heir of the whole estate). She married 1. James Shirley (the marriage was dissolved as it was against her consent), 2. Alexander Fraser Esq. & 3. Sir John St Leger, knight (one of the barons of the Court of Exchequer in Ireland (and heir to the estates).
- Jacobetta Ware d. in infancy[1]
His wife Elizabeth died 4 Nov 1667[1]
He then married Barbara Stone.
Their children:
- James Ware m. Miss Fitzgerald, daughter of ?Pierce Fitzgerald d. 1755 Dublin
- Barbara Ware b. 2 Feb 1669 died young and unmarried
- Jane Ware m. John Sanders, Baronet, in 1692
- Elizabeth Ware m. Andrew-Francis Cheney[1]
He died 16 May 1689 in Chester, England.[1]
