William was born in Stamford, Connecticut, in about 1866, the oldest son of William Waring and Caroline Clark.[1][2]
His marriage and death are not known, but were likely both before 1900. His parents' 1900 census records two grandsons:[3]
1886: Harry (not to be confused with his uncle, also Harry, who was born only a few years earlier)
1892-1969: Charles Edward, m. Mary Dolan, < 1922
The oldest, Harry, was born when William was about 20. William's older sister had married a Mead not long after 1880, and her children are recorded on the same census with the Mead surname, so the boys cannot be hers. It is conceivable that William's oldest younger brother, George, became a father at 17, but William was the most likely father of the boys.
