Biography

William Joseph Watchorn 18 Dec 1844 Islington. In 1871 his father Richard 68 was a gardener living at Highway Vale with Rebecca 67, Anne M 29, William J 26 and granddaughter Rebecca A 3 all from Islington. William married Esther Milward Stenner 1845-1898 on 8 April 1882 at St Jude, Mildmay Grove. In 1891 William 47 was a nurseryman living in Clapham Road with Esther 46 born at Clifton, and two nieces and a nephew, Flora Ellen Stainer 20, Mary Kate Stainer 19 and Samuel Stubbs Stainer 16, all born at Porlock. In 1901 he was a nurseryman living at St Pauls, Balls Pond, Islington and with him were his nephew William and his family and two servants. In 1911 he lived in Clapham Road, a nurseryman and grower, and his nephew and family with him. William Joseph died 1925 at Islington aged 80.
