Biography

Ethel was born in 1884, the daughter of William Waters and Agnes (Rattray)^[1][2]

She passed away in 1906 aged 21 years^[3]

Death report: North Melbourne Courier and West Melbourne Advertiser (Vic. : 1895 - 1913) Fri 15 Jun 1906 - SUDDEN DEATH.-At 6 p.m. on Tuesday Constable Hoban was informed by Mrs. Agnes Waters, residing in Peel st., that her daughter, a single woman named Ethel Waters, 21 years of age, had died suddenly. Mrs. Waters informed the constable that deceased lived with her, and took ill about a fortnight ago. She was then treated by Dr. Nattrass for pneumonia and was confined to bed for eight days. She subsequently regained her health, but on Monday complained of pains in the chest and back. At 8 a.m. on Tuesday Miss Waters again complained of these pains and took a tonic medicine, and seemed well enough till 5 p.m. when her mother found her fallen forward with her face on the table and gasping for breath. Her mother put her to bed, and she died at 6 p.m. as above stated. The matter has been reported to the coroner who, after hearing the result of a post mortem, decided an inquest was not necessary.^[4]
