Eleanor "Ellen" (Watson) Pennington, 79, passed away on 13 February 1878 at Plainfield, Will, Illinois. She was born in Centre County, Pennsylvania on 1 February 1799, the fifth of six children of James Watson, Sr., 1740-1822 and Agnes (Graham) Watson, 1764-1854. She married Robert Pennington in about 1821.
Mrs. Pennington was survived by: her children, James Watson Pennington, b. 1822; Susan Porter (Pennington) Seely, b. 1839; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Robert, 1799-1854; children, Anne E. Pennington, 1825-1827; Margere G. Pennington, 1834-1835; Marjorie Pennington, 1838-1839; Robert Henry Clay Pennington, . 1843-1850; and siblings, William Watson, 1778-1841; Ann Nancy Agnes (Watson) Irvin, 1781-1855; James Watson, Jr., 1783-1857; Margaret (Watson) Johnston, 1785-1866; and Joseph G. Watson, 1801-1849.
Eleanor is buried at the Plainfield Township Cemetery, Plainfield, Will, Illinois; plot: Section A, Range 1, Lot 36.
