Frederick was baptised in 1830 in Topsham Devon, but his date of birth was given as 1825. In censuses he stated he was born in London.
At the time of his marriage in 1847, Frederick was a mason, living at 14 Duke St, Plymouth. His father is given as Frederick Robert Huxham Watts, a shoemaker.
In 1851, he and Mary are living in Richmond St, Plymouth with their 2 year old daughter, Mary.
In 1871, he and Mary are living in Wembury, now a suburb of Plymouth on the coast to the east of the town. He is a mason and they have 3 sons living with them - Nicholas, Frederick and William, all born in Wembury, so they appear to have been there since at least 1858.
In 1891, he and Mary are living alone Archer Terrace, Plymouth. He lists his occupation as mason and wood store keeper.
