David Frederick Weir was born on 1st September 1917 at Bondi, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of David Weir and Mary Stafford. [1]
On 11th December 1941 at Sale, Victoria, David enlisted in the Second Australian Imperial Force for service overseas during the Second World War. He was allocated to the Australian Army Pay Corps and discharged on 15th December 1943. [2]
He married Marjorie Stirling in 1942 at Victoria. [3]
