Biography

Richard Douglas Welch was born in Calgary, Alberta on October 13, 1907. He was the son of Arthur Welch and Hattie Mayberry.

At the time of the 1911 Canada Census, Arthur, Hattie, Max, Douglas, and Catheline Welch were listed as living in Vancouver, British Columbia, along with Arthur's father Geo Welch^[1].

At the time of the 1921 Canada Census, Arthur J., Hattie (mistranscribed as "Hottie") M., Max C., Richard D., and Kathleen R. Welch were listed as living in Point Grey, British Columbia^[2].

Richard married Dorothy Hipperson in Nelson, British Columbia on July 25, 1928^[3]. At the time of their marriage, Richard’s occupation was listed as “Broker".

Richard died in North Vancouver, British Columbia on April 28, 1994^[4]. On his death certificate, Richard's occupation was listed as "Management" and his kind of business or industry was listed as "Construction".
