WEDDING. PEREIRA— WELCH. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at Cowra Road Methodist Church, on Saturday, 9th March, at 3 p.m., when Betty, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Welch, of Undercliffe, Sydney, was united in matrimony to Arthur, third son of Cr. and Mrs. G. Pereira, of "Spring Vale," Cowra Road, Grenfell. The church was nicely decorated by friends of Cowra Road. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, dressed in a charming frock of powder blue krinkle moss crepe, with shoes to match, and wore a tulle veil, kindly lent by Mrs. Alf Pereira. The bride carried a bautiful sheaf of white asters and roses relieved with touches of pale blue delphinium, from which was suspended a dainty blue horseshoe. Miss Eva Pereira acted as bridesmaid, and Mr. Stanley Welch (brother of the bride) was best man. The bridesmaid was attired in a pretty shell pink chiffon, panelled with lace, and carried a bouquet of pink cactus dahlias and fern. Both bouquets were made by Mrs. G. Pereira. During the signing of the register 'All Joy be Thine' was sweetly rendered by Mrs. Alf Pereira. Mrs. Alf. Pereira presided at the organ. The reception was held at "Spring Vale," where the mothers of the bride and bridegroom received the guests. The bride's mother wore, San Toy crepe in tonings of brown, and the bridegroom's mother was attired in nel-de-chene crepe. Fifty guests sat down to a sumptuous repast, Rev. Paine presiding. The usual toasts were honored, and many telegrams of congratulation were received. The two-tier cake was artistically decorated with touches of blue by Mrs. Pearl Hocking as a wedding gift. Many beautiful and useful gifts were received, including numerous cheques. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a travelling rug, and the bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold wristte watch, and to the bridesmaid a set of rock crystals. The happy couple left by car amidst a shower of confetti for the Mountains and Sydney, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride travelled in an ensemble of new blue matalasse. The catering was in the capable hands of Mrs. Aston. |
