William was born in 1892 at Bow, or Poplar, London, England, the son of Frederick Wenborn and Mary Ann Wenborn nee Tills.
On the 2nd February 1917, William married Ada Dennison at St. Matthias, Canning Town, Essex, England. William Wemborne, 24, bachelor, stoker R(oyal) N(avy), of 164 Star Land, son of Frederick Wemborne (Fireman, deceased) and Ada Dennison, 23, spinster of 27 Blanche Street, daughter of Charles Dennison (Cork?, deceased). Witnessed by John Robinson & Amelia A. Robinson[1].
He was killed in action on the 13th December 1917 in the Irish Sea, when the ship he was on was hit by a submarine. His body was never recovered[2].
