Death

FATAL ACCIDENT. Last night our Gatton correspondent wired as follows :-- Mrs. Gramz, a daughter of Mr. Herman Wessling, of Upper Tent Hill, was killed this evening a tree falling on her, She was only 17 years of age, and had but recently been married. [2] [1]

THE RECENT FATAL ACCIDENT NEAR DEEP GULLY. A Deep Gully correspondent, writing in reference to the tree-felling accident by which Mrs. Gramz lost her life a few days ago, and respecting which further particulars were given in our last issue, says that the deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. Herman Wessling, and was a general favourite with all who knew her. The funeral started from Mr. Schroeder's residence on Wednesday morning last and was very largely attended. The service was conducted by the Rev. Mr. Millat, of Hatton Vale, at the local Lutheran Church, and very few eyes were dry as the child wife (her age was only 16 years) was laid to rest. The keenest sympathy is felt for her young husband, as well as for Mrs. and Mr. Schroeder, with whom she was reared, and at whose place she and her husband were living, She was indeed a cheering sister to Mrs. Schroeder, who has for some time cast been in very poor health. The deceased's mirth will be sadly enough missed in that home, but still more sadly by her husband. The deseased was a niece of Mr. Frederick Wessling and a sister of Messrs. Otto and Harry Wessling, well-known residents in this locality. [1]
