Fleetwood West was born in Lewis County, West Virginia on March 21, 1897^[1]. He was the son of Waterman W. West and Louverna White.

Fleetwood married Mona Woods in Midway, West Virginia on January 16, 1927^[2]. On their marriage registration, Fleetwood's occupation was listed as "Teamster".

Fleetwood died in West Virginia on July 22, 1976, and was buried in Snyder Cemetery,near Churchville,Lewis county, West Virginia^[3].
