Marriage: Peter Cox Sussex Ancestors - Wicks[1] My great-great grandmother, Barbara Wicks and Samuel West were married at Lewes St Johns Sub-Castro on the 16th May 1841. Samuel was a bachelor aged 21 of Allington and Barbara Wicks a spinster aged 20 and a servant at Courthouse Farm. Both Allington and Courthouse were/are in a detached part of the parish of Lewes St Johns Sub-Castro (aka St John Without). Barbara gave the name of her father as James Wicks.
