Alan was born in Kent Town, South Australia during 1899. He is the son of Charles Westmacott and Beatrice Fisher. He passed away in New South Wales during 1997.
Alan was born in Kent Town, South Australia on 10 October 1899 to Charles Westmacott and Beatrice Fisher.[1] The following birth notice was published in the South Australian newspaper, The Advertiser, on 17 October 1899:[2]
WESTMACOTT.—On the 10th October, at "Park holme," Kent Town, the wife of C. Rendel Westcott (sic), "Bethunera (sic) Park," N.S.W.—a son.
Alan married Kate Circuitt in Darling Point, New South Wales on 2 April 1924.[3][4] The following marriage notice was published in the New South Welsh newspaper, The Sydney Morning Herald, on 17 October 1899:[4]
WESTMACOTT— CIRCUITT.— On the 2nd April, at St. Mark's, Darling Point, Sydney, Alan Rendel Westmacott, Clifford Downs, Carrathool, to Kate Augusta, eldest daughter of B. Perry Circuitt, Esq., of Dangelong, Cooma.
Alan served in both the Australian Army and the Royal Australian Air Force during the Second World War. He enlisted in the Army in Liverpool, New South Wales on 11 March 1940, and was discharged with the rank of Lieutenant with a posting in the RTD on 29 August 1940. He enlisted in the Air Force in Melbourne, Victoria on 17 January 1942, and was discharged with the rank of Flight Lieutenant at the 8th Elementary Flying Training School.[5][6]
Alan died in New South Wales on 24 April 1997 at the age of 97 years.[7]
Notes
Alan is mentioned in his father's obituary originally published in the Australian publication, Pastoral Review and Graziers' Record, on 16 December 1955 as being a pastoralist operating a property named Warrella Plains near Bourke, New South Wales.[8]
