Biography

Elizabeth Hannah Whittaker (1899-1988) was born on the 30th October 1899 at Devonport Street, Toxteth Park. She was the daughter of Frederick Whittaker and Elizabeth Barker ^[1]

and was christened at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Toxteth on the 20th November 1899. ^[2]

By 1901 the family had moved to North Hill Street, Toxteth ^[3] but moved several times in the next decade. By 1911 they lived at Robertson Street, Toxteth and another sibling had joined them (a further 3 had died). ^[4]
Another brother joined them in 1912 but their mother died in 1913 at which time they were living on Woodruff Street, Toxteth Park.

In 1916 she gained a stepbrother when her father remarried a widow. They lived on Stopford Street at the time and stayed there over a decade. At some point Elizabeth had moved out and was living in the children's hospital in Myrtle Street, Liverpool. It was from there she married Albert Laycock at St Columba's church, Liverpool on the 29th April 1925. ^{[5] [6]}

They lived on Hollyfield Road, Orrell Park in north Liverpool ^{[7] [8] [9]}

They would have 3 sons but 1 died as a child.

Elizabeth died at home in Hollyfield Road on the 21st March 1988 ^{[10] [11]}

and was buried in Anfield Cemetery, Liverpool on the 29th March. ^[12]
