Research Notes
There is circumstantial evidence pointing towards a familial relationship between Bathsheba and Thomas Whitten that may ultimately lead back to Thomas Whitten Jr.. Bathsheba and Thomas Whitten are known to have lived in neighboring towns during the same time frame (i.e. Parsonsfield and Limerick). Both of them married into the Leavitt family and named children Lucy, which was the name of Thomas Whitten Jr's wife. Bathsheba also named her eldest son, Thomas. Further research will need to be done in order to figure out where their placement is in their Whitten families.
Her daughter, Lucy's death record specifies that Bathsheba was born in Parsonsfield, Maine and her husband, John was born in Hampton, New Hampshire.
