Ann Erwin Widney was the grandmother of Dr. George Wilds Linn, who authored the 1905 account of the Linn and Widney families. She was also a daughter of James Widney, brother of Sarah (Linn) Widney.
Ann was born the years after her parents emigrated from Ireland. Born and raised in the village of Concord, she married her cousin Hugh Linn II. The couple raised a family of ten children, including Dr. Alexander Erwin Linn. They lived out their days in the village of Concord, which Ann's father had helped to found, and were buried in the Concord Union Cemetery. Ann's gravestone is still legible and is inscribed, "Ann, Wife of Hugh Linn Died April 25th 1865 in the 80th Year of Her Age".
