Biography

Mary's year of birth is complete conjecture. All we know for certain is she was the third daughter of Robert Wilkinson and an unknown mother; she was already married in 1630; and she probably deceased by 1642. Using the dates of marriage of three of her sisters (Alice, Dorothy, Joan) in order to estimate their years of birth, and knowing her position between Dorothy and Joan, allows this very rough estimate. She was probably born in the village of Ruddington in the Rushcliffe Hundred of Nottinghamshire.

Mary was listed in the 20 Sep 1630 will of her father Robert as "my daughter Marye, the wife of William Malice of London."^[1] Unlike eight of her other ten siblings, she was not mentioned in the 25 Nov 1642 will of her kinsman Henry Wilkinson of Nottingham,^[2] which could be evidence she had died prior to that date.

No marriage or death records for her has so far been found anywhere in Nottinghamshire or in London, nor birth records of any children.
