Biography

Frances "Fran" Jean Williams was born on September 6, 1923, in the charming town of Sheridan, nestled within Grant County, Arkansas. Her parents, Oliver Randloph Williams and Clara Ann (Zinn) Williams, welcomed her into the world, setting the stage for a life filled with remarkable experiences.

In her early years, young Fran lived in Hope, Hempstead County, Arkansas, in 1935. The tight-knit community provided her with a sense of belonging and a foundation for the life she would lead.

The 1940s found Fran living on Rose Street in Sheridan, Grant County, Arkansas. As the world underwent significant changes, Fran herself embarked on a journey of education and growth. She graduated from Arkansas State Teacher's College in Conway, Arkansas, a testament to her dedication and thirst for knowledge.

On April 13, 1946, Fran's life took a pivotal turn as she married Charles William Blyth in Grant County, Arkansas. Charles, a military man, led them on a globetrotting adventure that spanned from the Philippines to assignments along both the East and West Coasts. As a military wife and homemaker, Fran's adaptability and resilience shone brightly.

In 1950, their journey led them to Bougainville Street in Oceanside, San Diego County, Arkansas. This period marked another chapter in Fran's life, marked by the ebb and flow of military life and the bonds she forged along the way.

Tragedy struck when Charles passed away from brain cancer on May 2, 1977. Fran's strength guided her forward, and on September 3, 1988, she found love once again when she married Louis Craig Maus in Pulaski County, Arkansas. After her second marriage, she settled in the enchanting town of Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she continued to infuse her days with passion and creativity.

Fran's vibrant spirit shone through in her love for dancing and painting. She possessed a remarkable talent for connecting with others, embracing the art of conversation with every person she encountered. Notably, her charisma once earned her a unique opportunity to become a soft shoe tap dancer at an old diner, where she would sway to the melodies of a piano player, surrounded by the timeless tunes of the big band era.

On October 28, 2010, Fran's journey on this Earth came to a close in Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas. She left behind a legacy of love, adventure, and creativity that would forever be cherished by those who knew her. Her final resting place was Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan, Grant County, Arkansas, a fitting tribute to her beginnings and her journey.

Frances "Fran" Jean Williams lived a life of depth and richness, touching the lives of many along the way. Her story is one of courage, resilience, and an unyielding zest for life that continues to inspire generations to come.
