John, son of Gordon and Mary Willis, was baptised on 24 Aug 1823 at St Mary the Virgin, Dover, Kent.^[1]

John Willis, son of Gordon Willis, married Sarah Jarrett, daughter of Thomas Jarrett, on 27 Mar 1846 at Sittingbourne, Kent, England.^[2][3]

John was a mariner, and was away from home on the night of the 1851 census.^[4]
