Valentine Henry Wilmot was born in 1757 in Northumberland, England, son of Henry Wilmot (<1708–1794) and Sarah Morris (1724–~1793). He was baptised on 7th July 1757 at St Giles in the Field, Holborn, Camden, England. He was the son of Henry Wilmot and his wife Sarah Morris.[1][2]
Valetnine`s father Henry Wilmot was a Attorney, working from Greys Inn, Middlesex. He paid for many Apprentice Indentures, such as William Adams. He is registered in the Register of duties paid for Apprentices` indentures on Thursday 25th October 1744.[3][4]
Henry Wilmot Esquire rented Property in Bloomsbury Square, Middlesex from the Duke of Bedford.[5][6]Valentine may of spent time living there when his family came to London, but most of his growing up would have taken place at Farnborough in Hampshire, at there country home.
He had 1 sibling Elizabeth Sarah Wilmot baptised on 23rd March 1745, at Trowbridge, Witshire, England.[7][8]
On 15th March 1789 Valentine Henry Wilmot married Barbarine Ogle at Martyr Wirthy, Hampshire, England.[9][10]
Valentine Henry Wilmot and Barbarina Ogle appear in the Hampshire, England, Allegations for Marriage Licences, 1689-1837. Valentine Henry Wilmot of Farnborough, Esquire, 25 a bacholer and Barbarina Ogle, of Martyr Worthy, 21 a spinster, at Martyr Worthy, 13th March 1789.[11][12]
Barbarina Ogle was the third daughter of Admiral Sir Chaloner Ogle, Baronet Ogle and his wife Hester, youngest daughter and coheir of John Thomas, D.D, Bishop of Winchester.[13][14]
Valentine and Barbarine only had the 1 child, Arabella Jane Wilmot, born on 1st May 1796 and baptished on 20th June 1796 at Saint Mary`s Church, St Marylebone Road, St Marylebone, London.[15][16]
Arabella married the Reverand Frederick Sullivan on 3rd January 1821 at St Georges Church Hanover Square, Westminster, England.[17][18]
The Wilmot family owned Farnborough Place Mansion, in Farnborough, Hampshire, and in 1812 Valentine Henry Wilmot became Lord of the Manor on the Death of his father, Henry Wilmot. By 1814 Cove Manor in Yateley, Hamshire, had come into the possession of Valentine Henry Wilmot of Farnborough, by whose family it had probably been acquired by purchase. Valentine Henry died in 1819, leaving the manor to his widow Barbarina, with reversion to his only daughter and heir Arabella Jane. Barbarina afterwards married Thomas, Lord Dacre, who is mentioned as lord of the manor in 1823, and in 1845 he and his wife held a court there. On the death of Lady Dacre the estate passed to her daughter Arabella Jane, whose husband, the Rev. Frederick Sullivan of Kimpton, is mentioned as lord of the manor in 1864. He died in 1873, leaving the manor to his third but eldest surviving son, Captain Francis William Sullivan, afterwards Admiral Sir F. W. Sullivan, who succeeded his cousin as sixth baronet in 1899.[19]
Between 1799-1819 Valentine owned a Property in Ash, Frimey, Surrey.[20][21]
Valentine Henry Wilmot died in 1819 and was buried on 14th June 1819 at Farnborough, Hampshire, England.[22][23]
Valentine`s will was probated on 2nd July 1819, stating his place of residence as Farnborough Place, Southampton.[24][25]
Valentine`s Widow Barbarina went on to marry Thomas Brand, Baron Dacre, on 4th December 1819 at Bishops Waltham, Hampshire.[26][27]
