Hugh and his family were listed on the 1850 census together,[2] and the 1860 census.[3]
Property
Hugh Wilson had a plantation of 440 acres that he bequeathed to his wife Elizabeth.[4]
Death
Hugh Wilson died in 1863. He wrote his will 4 Sept 1862, and it was proven 1 Dec 1863.[4]
Hugh Wilson is buried in the Big Creek Cemetery, Anderson County, South Carolina.[5]
Slaves
Hugh Wilson was a slaveowner.[6] He named a number of enslaved persons in his will and probate papers.[4][7][8]
