"Wolcott, Donald Palmer CHARLESTON, S.C. Donald Palmer Wolcott, 66, of Charleston, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on October 16, 2009.
Born on September 20, 1943 in Ticonderoga, N.Y., Don was son of the late Donald and Winola Wolcott.
Don resided for most of his life in Cohoes, N.Y. and spent the last seven months in Charleston.
He graduated from Ticonderoga High School and enrolled in the U.S. Navy, serving six years in both active and reserve duty.
He was married to Sharon (Chura) Wolcott and had three loving children, Donald Scott Wolcott, Kimberle (Wolcott) Grabowski and Terra Wolcott.
Don was an electrician and member of the International & Local IBEW 236 Union Hall, working for Trojan Hardware, Freihofers, and Norton Company (Saint Gobain) as well as other companies out of the local union hall.
He loved to play and follow golf.
Don is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Jerry (Jerry) Morse; his brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence (Susie) Wolcott; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Wolcott and Monica (William) Durivage; brother-in-law, Michael Chura; and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Connie Wolcott, his brother, John Wolcott; and in-laws, Anthony and Theresa Chura.
The family of Donald Wolcott would like to thank everyone involved with New York Oncology and Hematology at Albany Medical Center and University Ear Nose and Throat as well as Solaris Hospice and Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Charleston.
A graveside service will take place 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23 at the Gerald B.H. Soloman Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
There are no calling hours.

Don will greatly be missed by his canine friends, K.D. and Ernie.
