Alice Eveline was born in 1896 in Johannesburg; she was the daughter of William Howarth and Jeanie Wood.

She was 22 years old when she married 24 year old Ivon Teske Symington in Mombasa, Nairobi, on 18 October 1918. Her parents lived in Nairobi. The following children were born of this marriage:

Alice was 46 years old and resident at 'The Summit', 59 Pretoria Street, Johannesburg, when she passed away in the Johannesburg General Hospital on 14 Jul 1942.^[1][2]
