Biography

Eileen was born in 1881. [1] She is the daughter of Robert Woods (Confectioner) and Jessie Gilmour.

On 31 March 1901 the Woods family lived in Friarsland, Dundrum, County Dublin. Robert Woods (53) Wholesale Manufactures of Confectionary and Jam and Lead Manufacturer & Jessie Woods (48, Presbyterian & born in Scotland) with children all born in County Dublin, Taida K Woods (10), Janet M Woods (22), Eileen E Woods (19),Hildare J L Woods (16), Robert Keith Woods (14), George G Woods (6) with Lady Help Georgina M John (49), all Church of Ireland and servant Bridget Donegan (23) Roman Catholic. [2]

On 2 April 1911 the Woods family lived in Friarsland, Milltown, County Dublin. Robert Woods (63) Merchant Jam and Confectionery & children Eileen Elizabeth Woods (29), Hilda Isabella Lambert Woods (26), Robert Keith Woods (24) Commercial Clerk Jam and Confectionery with Lady Help Georgina Mary John (58) all Church of Ireland and servants, Annie Obrien (31) & Rose Obrien (27), both Roman Catholic. [3]

Eileen Elizabeth Woods married Henry Vincent Thompson (Civil Servant) on 20 September 1911 in Dublin. Fathers Robert Woods (Gentleman) and Norman Thompson (School Teacher), witnesses Hilda Woods and A. Cameron Forrest. [4]

Twins Elizabeth and William were born in Lisburn, County Antrim in 1913.

On 26 November 1928 Eileen E Thompson (47) and daughter Elizabeth H Thompson (15), Jessie Woods (75) and Hilda Woods (44) arrived in New York, New York, United States on board SS Samaria from Liverpool, England.[5]

On 2 June 1929 Eileen E Thompson (47) and daughter Betty Thompson (15) arrived in Liverpool, England on board SS Samaria from New York, New York, United States. They were going to Myrtlefield Park, Belfast, Northern Ireland (mother Jessie's address) [6]
