Richard was born in 1872.[1] He was the son of George Woolhouse and Sarah Turner.
He married Janet Mason in Hokitika in 1896.[2] They had children: William (1897-1929), Janet (1899-1899), Edward (1901-1961), Dorothy (1903), Sarah (1904-1994), Margaret (1904-1927), Ethel (1907-1928). They divorced in 1923. [3]
He passed away in 1928[4] and is buried in Ross Cemetery.[5][6]
