Biography

Elizabeth Woolley was born May 5, 1835 in Poplar, Ocean Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey, daughter of Jacob Woolley and Letitia Kirby. [There is a mention in records dated July 11, 1860 that she was a dressmaker.] She married Jacob Charles Lawrence on February 21, 1861; they had four children, two dying at a young age. Elizabeth was residing with her only surviving child, Rulif and his family, when she died November 24, 1917. She was buried near Jacob and their daughters, Annie Louisa and Mary Letitia, at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey.

• Annie Louisa Lawrence b. November 30, 1863; d/y September 30,1865
• Mary Letitia Lawrence b. June 26, 1866; d. 1901
• Rulif VanCleve Lawrence b. April 29, 1871; d. September 12, 1938; m. 1899 Adeline Swift Yard (1868-1942)
