Biography
ELLEN WORK, daughter of Betsy (Linn) and Jacob A. Work, was born Aug. 7, 1861. She married Alexander Granville McAllister, Oct. 22, 1890. (See under Nancy (Linn) McAllister for account of A. Granville McAllister.) The children of Ellen (Work) and A. G. McAllister are: 1 Gerald, 2 Elizabeth, 3 Virginia, 4 Evelyn, 5 Paul, and 6 Mary Katharine. Their home is at Magnetic Springs, Ohio. They lived for a few years at Thorp Springs, Texas.
6a GERALD McALLISTER was born Dec. 28, 1891. He married Jane Hughes, daughter of Fulton and Arah Hughes, Sept. 29, 1915. They have no children.
6b ELIZABETH L. McALLISTER was born July 30, 1893. She married Stephen A. Eddy, Aug. 2, 1919. He died Nov. 14, 1919. He was a son of Albert G. and Mary A. Eddy, of Magnetic Springs, Ohio. She had no children.
6c VIRGINIA E. McALLISTER was born Aug. 29, 1895. She married William L. Fletcher, son of William M. and Ella Fletcher, of Richwood, Ohio, Oct. 15, 1922. Their children are: 1 Lawrence Elwood, born Feb. 1, 1925; 2 Phyllis Elizabeth, born Nov. 28, 1926; 3 Richard Work, born Dec. 28, 1927; 4 Ruth Anna and Esther Hope, Sept. 13, 1929; and 5 Nancy Linn, born July 29, 1931. They live at Columbus, Ohio.
6d EVELYN GWINN McALLISTER was born Feb. 11, 1899. She married William R. Groover, son of Henry and Martha Groover, Sept. 11, 1920. They have three children: 1 William R. Groover Jr., born June 23, 1921; 2 Hugh M., born Oct. 9, 1928; and 3 Marjorie Ann, born Sept. 28, 1930. They live at Columbus, Ohio.
6e ALEXANDER PAUL McALLISTER was born Sept. 17 1900. He married Theresa Burt, daughter of Frank and Lois Burt, of Detroit, Mich., on Jan. 29, 1925. Their children are: 1 Donald Bruce, born Nov. 9, 1925; and 2 Paul Linn, born Feb. 20, 1927. Their home is at Detroit, Mich.
6f MARY KATHARINE McALLISTER was born Aug. 10, 1903. She married Robert Werner, son of August Werner, Nov. 25, 1923. They reside at Dearborn, Mich. Their children are: I Lewis, 2 Twila, and 3 Alma Wynema born April 23, 1931.
