Biography
Nina was born in 1890. She was the daughter of Joel Wright and Sarah Miller. She passed away in 1962.
Mrs. Nina Katherine Flory, 71, widow of Walter R. Flory, and a lifelong resident of the Weyers Cave community, died at four o'clock Thursday afternoon (April 19, 1962,) at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Flory had not enjoyed good health for the past five months and was admitted to the hospital a week ago.
A daughter of the late Joel W. Wright and Sallie Miller Wright, she was born on Nov. 16, 1890 in the Weyers Cave community, and with the exception of several years that she resided in the New Hope area, practically her entire life was spent in the community of her birth.
On Feb. 22, 1923 she married Mr. Flory who died April 23, 1942. Mrs. Flory was a faithful and active member of the Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by two children, Mrs. William A. Houff Jr. of Weyers Cave with whom Mrs. Flory had made her home for a number of years; and Mrs. Willard B. Cline of Waynesboro Route 1. She also leaves three step-children, Mrs. Claude O. Harris and Mrs. J. N. Glover, both of Staunton: and David C. Flory of Mt. Sidney; and six grandchildren; four step-grand-children; one sister, Mrs. J. P. Wilson, of Weyers Cave; and one brother, W. H. Wright, also of Weyers Cave.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon from the Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren near Weyers Cave. Dr. W. Donald Clague and the Rev. Wendell Flory will conduct the services and burial will be in the Middle River Church of the Brethren Cemetery near New Hope.
The body is at the Koontz Funeral Home where the rnembers of the family will receive friends this Friday evening from 7:30 until nine.
