Erwin Grover Wurster was born on February 3, 1884 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, son of Emanuel Albert Wurster (1861–1932) and Hedwig Schulze (1861–1945).[1]

Erwin (24) married Dorothy Kieckhefer (23) (born on October 24, 1884 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; daughter of William Henry John Kieckhefer and Louisa (Schroeder) Kieckhefer) on February 11, 1908 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.[3]

Erwin died on September 6, 1953 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, aged 69. He was buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.[6] [7]

Erwin Grover Wurster passed away at St. Mary's hospital in Duluth Sunday morning, Sept. 6, following a short illness.
Mr. Wurster was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 3, 1884 and attended the elementary and high schools there. He attended the University of Michigan College of Law at Ann Arbor, Michigan, from which he graduated in 1906. He passed the bar examination for the states of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada. He then practiced law in Milwaukee for 40 years, in private practice. He served as Assistant District Attorney in Milwaukee County for two years.
In 1908, he was married to Dorothy Kieckhefer in Milwaukee. Three children were born to this union, one daughter and two sons. His wife preceded him in death in 1935. He continued to make his home in Milwaukee and spent the summers at his home on Lac Court Oreilles near Hayward.
In 1943 he was married to Miss Jean Pugh of Hayward, and they have since resided at their home on Lac Court Oreilles, as Mr. Wurster had retired from active practice.
Mr. Wurster served as Adjutant General of the Wisconsin National Guard. In 1917 he was called to active duty in WWI. He served as a captain under General LaMonte in Washington, DC until the end of the war.
Mr. Wurster was a member of the Alonzo-Cudworth American Legion Post No. 73 of Milwaukee. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Milwaukee and of the Consistory of Eau Claire and the Zor Shrine of Madison; also the State Bar Association; he also was Court Commissioner for Sawyer County.
Survivors are his wife Jean; one daughter Mrs. Dorothy W. Aldrich of Milwaukee; two sons, William of Morristown, NJ and Albert of Milwaukee; seven grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Wurster Beaton of Omaha, NB.
Funeral services were held at the Anderson Chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 3 at 2PM with Rev. RJ Barnes officiating. The remains were then taken to Milwaukee, where graveside rites were conducted Wednesday at 11AM with interment in the family lot in Forest Home cemetery.
