Biography

John was born in 1812 to William Yarborough and Anna M Winstead.

He married Elizabeth Tapp in 1842. They had 10 children together:
Ingram Yarborough,
Abner Yarbrough,
William Yarborough,
Calvin Yarborough,
Mary F Yarborough,
Daniel Yarborough,
Rosannah ‘Rosie’ Taylor,
Samuel Yarborough,
Robert Yarbrough, and
Elizabeth Yarborough.

Eliza passed away in 1859. John then married Frances Burton Ledford. They also had 11 children and 9 survived:
Thomas D Yarborough,
Louis Pinkney Yarborough,
Martha Francis White,
Laura L Morgan,
Amanda Elizabeth Sperling,
John Robert Yarborough,
Margaret A Williams Ferguson,
James Anderson Yarbro, and
Noah George Albert Yarbro.

He died in 1887 and is at his final resting place in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, Shelby, Cleveland County, North Carolina. ^[1]

US Census 1850 John resided with his 1st wife and 5 children in Hopkins County, Kentucky. He was 38 and worked as a Farmer.^[2]

US Census 1860 John resided with his 2nd wife and 5 children in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Frances was 27. He was 37 and worked as a Farmer.

US Census 1860 3 of Johns children from his 1st wife are living with their Aunt and Uncle on mothers side in Hopkins County, Kentucky. They worked as Farm Laborers. Also found another son also living with a different Uncles family and 3 other of his children living with his mother and an Uncle. Found another at johns sisters family. Ingram (Uncle Lewis), Calvin (Gma), Daniel (Gma), Robert (Gma), Abner (Uncle), William (Uncle), Rosannah (Uncle), and Samuel (Aunt).

US Census 1870 John resided with his wife and 4 children in Warlick (Township 5), Cleveland County, North Carolina. Frances was 37. He was 47 and worked as a Farmer.

US Census 1880 John resided with his wife and 8 children in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Frances was 47. He was 57 and worked as a Farmer.
