Biography

Benjamin York was born September 25, 1767 likely in Stonington, New London, Connecticut. He was the first child of William York and Anna Peckham.

He married first Zilpha Crandall on November 4, 1790. They had two children together, both who died young. On August 8, 1794, his wife passed away.

He married second Desire Saunders on January 21, 1801. They had 7 children, only 5 of whom lived to adulthood:
