Father Gerard Patrick 'Paddy' Youll was born on 9th October 1896 in Wallsend, New South Wales (Australia). He was the younger son of Gibson Youll and Catherine Buckley. [1]
He was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest.
On 20th November 1939 Paddy was commissioned as a Chaplain in the Second Australian Imperial Force and was allocated to the 2/1st Australian Infantry Battalion. [2] He served in North Africa and Greece-Crete in 1941. [3] He was discharged on 26th December 1943. [2]
He passed away, aged 72 years, on 15th January 1969 in Stockton, New South Wales. [4]
