Luranah was born in New Hampshire in 1813, the daughter of Joseph Young.
She was living in Dover, New Hampshire in 1833, when she married Nathaniel Hobbs there on July 14, 1833.[1] They had one child, a son named Nathaniel Jr., in 1834.
She remarried in 1836 to John Hough. [2] They remained in Dover for some years before removing to Malden, Massachusetts, by 1850. [3] Her death record says she was the mother of 14 children.
After the death of her husband, she moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she was living with her grandson Harry in 1900. She died in 1907, at the Women's Hospital in Grand Falls, Michigan, at the age of 93 years. [4] She was buried at the Salem Street Cemetery in Malden with her husband.
