Biography

Agnes was a member of the Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain.

Agnes was a concert pianist and composer.

She was the daughter of Petri Zimmermann & Gertrudis Ankerbrand, born on 20 July 1847 and baptised on 21 July 1847 in Linz, Rheinland, Preußen, Germany.[1][2]

At age nine she enrolled at the Royal Academy of Music, and in 1862 she obtained a scholarship. In December 1862 she gave her first public performance at the Crystal Palace.[3]

Agnes became a member of the The Royal Society of Musicians of Great Britain on the 22 December 1869 as confirmed in the Society's book, “Members of The Royal Society of Musicians 1738-1984” on Page 163

In 1872, Agnes was in a naturalization record in Middlesex, England. She was described as a pianist, 25 years old, and born in Germany.[6]

Agnes Marie Jacobina Zimmermann was mentioned in a newspaper article in England as one of the executors of the estate of Dame Maria Sophia Goldsmid of 18 Portman Square, London, and the Red Lodge, Eastbourne, Sussex, and formerly of Western House, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, who died 7 Dec 1908.[7]

Agnes was registered to vote in 1909-1910 in St George, London, England.[8]

Agnes died on 14 November 1925 in Middlesex, England and her estate was granted on 31 December 1925 in London, England.[9]

on Ancestry [2] it suggests that Agnes had a lesbian relationship with Louisa - I have contacted the tree owner to see if they have further information to confirm this.
