Biography

Frederick was born in 1900. He was the son of Martin Zipfel and Frieda Höfling.

Fred married Mary Kasmarek in 1938. Fred and Mary do not appear to have had children.

He passed away in 1950 and was interred at Saint Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

Frederick M. ZipfeL 49. of 231 South Pennsylvania avenue, was found dead in his home yesterday afternoon about 5 by his wife. He appeared be in normal health when his wife left home earlier in toe day. Deputy Coroner Dr. Robert S. Stricker attributed death to a heart attack and staled that Mr. Zipfel had probably been dead about an hour before his wife returned home. Mr. Zipfel was born in Wilkes-Barre on December 10, 1900. the son of late Martin and Freda Hoeffling ZipfeL He had lived most of his life in Wilkes-Barre and had been employed at various local establishments as a bartender. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Kasmarek of Dunmore, and seven sisters: Mrs. Michael Holleran, Kingston; Mrs. Harry Richards. Elmira, N. Y.; Mrs. Loretta Clarke and Mrs. Florence Schlesinger, Hollywood, Calif; Mrs. Floyd Olmstead and Mrs. John P. Williams, both of Wilkes-Barre, and Mrs. Ralph Spurling. Chatham, N. J. There also are 12 nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 from the Lisman Funeral Home, 233 South Washington street. Burial will be in St Nicholas cemetery, Shavertown. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 to 10 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7:30 to 10 p, m.
