OBITUARY: Funeral services for Carol Russell, 60 of Giddings, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Carol Diane (Zoch) Russell was born on August 5, 1963 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Eddie Willie Zoch and Mildred Lillian (Wagner) Zoch. Carol was united in marriage to Wayne Russell on February 15, 2003 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Austin. Carol worked for many years in the air conditioning business in Austin before moving to Giddings, where she worked for The Nitsche Group for several years. Carol enjoyed traveling, trips to the coast, and taking day road trips. She loved taking care of her dog Sandy, whom she loved dearly.

Carol passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at St. David's Medical Center in Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie & Mildred Zoch and her brother, Glenn Zoch.

Carol is survived by her husband, Wayne Russell of Giddings as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Irwin, Blake Whitaker, David Faske, Allen Kaiser, David Wagner, and Michael Vickich.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
