Biography
Gabriel was born about 1524. He passed away about 1600.
Was a New-Christian registrar (escrivão dos orfãos, da almotaçaria e dos direitos reais) persecuted by Évora Inquisition[1], was accused of Judaism, heresy and apostasy. On 9 November 1697 he was a widower and declared he had 73 years old. He was a relaxed to the secular justice (conviction to the death penalty), in the Auto-da-Fé of 27 August 1600.

In the Auto-da-Fé of 27 August 1600 (Listas dos Autos da Fé da Inquisição de Évora - PT/TT/TSO-CG/002/0434 fl 33 - image m0048) there is a male relaxed in statue - probably is Gabriel Álvares, so he died before the auto-da-fé.
