Dr. Levi Jewett has an amazing story of surviving the Battle at Reams Station in Virginia. Is he a notable or have a Wikipedia profile? We need to categorize him better as he already has an amazing bio we could use some more sources showing enlistment dates and muster out dates.

It appears the 14th Conn. Vols were in the thick of the fight in this battle including the death of their Captain William H  Hawley. It must of been one heck of a battle!

Is there a photo of him we can use on his profile?

Thanks, Andrew! ... and everybody else who is doing work on Levi's profile.  He's not a direct descendant of mine, like fifth cousin three times removed ... I need to get that 'removed' stuff figured out some day!

Just looked at Wikipedia and there were two Battles of Ream's Station ... 29 June 1864 and 25 August 1864 ... not sure in which one he was injured.

Thank you Marion

Good source here lists date of birth death and his military regiment!!
1850 census is great shows him at the age of only 15 here!
We have on his enlistment date August 23, 1862. So probably should be changed to July 14, 1862 as the date of August might be the muster not enlist?
Baptized May 3, 1835

Excellent!!
Thanks for the star Carol

I have added the dates for his Civil War service. I have also added a photo. There is more information of him from the Middlesex Historical Society. I have also added a link to the History of the 14th Connecticut Vol. Infantry.

Hi Bob and All,

I just checked and there is no wikipedia page specific to Dr. Levi Jewett. Given that there is information about him in the Middlesex Historical Society, perhaps that might serve for him to have a 'Notables' sticker. Perhaps someone could check with Scott on this?
