Which Military Sticker and/or Template to add?

This young man was killed in action in 1918 in France and I'm certain he should have a sticker and/or template attached to his memorial profile.  Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Killed in Action would be one.

{{Roll of Honor
|category=Killed in Action, Australia, World War I
|image=Roll of Honor Template-15.jpg
|country=Australia
|description=Killed in Action
|war=World War I
}}

Veteran Recognition would be another.

{{Veteran Recognition
 | badge-image =Military_Badges_and_Insignia-23.png
 | nationality =Australian
 | branch =
 | start-year =
 | end-year =
 | text =Served
 }}
(Fill in the blanks.)

The red poppy one also

{{Veteran Recognition
 | badge-image =Military_Badges_and_Insignia-1.jpg
 | start-year =
 | end-year =
 | text =Lest We Forget.
 }}
(Fill in the blanks.)

I would go with both the KIA and the Vets Recognition. To me, the Red Poppy is more to honor a disabled vet. It was originally used to raise funds for disabled veterans.
In Australia the poppy honours all Veterans.

What about those held captive as prisoner of war?

Specifically WW II
by Sharon Flax Waddington G2G6 (8.4k points)
He died in WWI.

Durbin-702 answered that someone died in WWI

My question was about military badges and military service.

My grandfather in law was taken away and held in Russia for some years during the war. No he did not die in the war. He returned to Germany.

My question still is - are there badges or set notifications for POW prisoners of war or what is the standard protocol, or is there one?

I would not use Veteran Recognition for a person KIA in WWI. Those are more appropriate for a vet who did not participate in a war (like myself).

There is the RoH one as you used but also the WWI sticker. I will add it to Mr O'Loughlin if someone has not done so already. There are also the medal categories.

His bio contains information on the unit and the death date is that of the Battle of Amiens, but the bio says "third battle of Somme."  A bit confusing.

Hi Natalie, I've taken a look at how this may have come about and have confirmed that the Third Battle of the Somme (I confirmed it referred to as such in materials produced by the Department of Parliament Australia) is also known as the Battle of Amiens or the Third Battle of Picardy.

The records in my branch have been created and updated by multiple people, my guess is there's a few hands in this one. I'll update the reference to ensure it's clearly one and the same. :)

Thanks!
Corey
